Increased Recycled Content: These devices incorporate higher levels of recycled materials, such as 100 percent recycled cobalt in the battery and 100 percent recycled copper in the main logic board, copper wire in the Taptic Engine, and copper foil in the inductive charger in MagSafe – all industry firsts for iPhones. Furthermore, both models contain 75 percent recycled aluminum in the enclosure, 100 percent recycled rare earth elements in all magnets, and 100 percent recycled gold in the USB‑C connector, gold plating, and tin soldering across various printed circuit boards.

Energy Efficiency: The iPhone 15 lineup adheres to Apple’s stringent energy efficiency standards and is devoid of harmful substances like mercury, PVC, and beryllium.

Eco-Friendly Packaging: Over 99 percent of the packaging is fiber-based, advancing Apple’s objective of eliminating plastic from its packaging entirely by 2025.

In an effort to further minimize its environmental footprint, Apple has decided to discontinue the use of leather in all new Apple products, including iPhone accessories. Instead, Apple introduces the FineWoven Case with MagSafe and FineWoven Wallet with MagSafe, crafted from a durable microtwill material that boasts a soft, suede-like texture. This material is composed of 68 percent post-consumer recycled content and substantially reduces carbon emissions when compared to leather, aligning with Apple’s commitment to eco-conscious design and sustainability.
